While Western philosophy exalts aesthetic beauty under the concepts of flawlessness and perfectionism, Eastern philosophy argues that imperfection is essential for beauty to emerge and exist. The Venus de Medici has been an aesthetic source of inspiration for sculptors for centuries. This work highlights the philosophy of Zen gardens, emphasizing the impermanence of sand and the beauty inherent in imperfection. Incompleteness is expressed through the presence of imperfections in the body. Sand is a component of Zen gardens and a symbol of impermanence and peace. Displaying the work with sand, and the ability to arrange it in different ways, adds a constantly evolving sense to the space. In addition to the sculptural nature of the work, the ability to arrange the sand and create unity with the work can also be considered a sculptural form of space and space.
