Silent Night is an abstract interpretation of a landscape poised on the thin edge between nature and destruction. The texture of handmade paper and the memory traces carried by recycled fibers create a sense of both continuity and fragility on the surface. Dark blue tones convey the peaceful silence of night, while golden reflections suggest an unseen movement and transformation. An orange line slicing through the horizon marks the line of life, while vertical white and black forms, both vegetal and structural traces, reflect the tension between human intervention and natural existence. The work invites the viewer to pause in the silence of nature, on the threshold of an irreversible moment.

Melis Sucuoğlu Doğan

Born in Antalya in 1988, he completed his undergraduate studies at Gazi University, his postgraduate studies at Akdeniz University's Faculty of Fine Arts, and his Proficiency in Arts. He currently serves as a faculty member at Ardahan University's Faculty of Fine Arts.

Establishing a layered connection between nature, memory, and cultural narratives in her artistic production, the artist works with monoprints, handmade paper, and mixed media. She treats surfaces not only as a field of expression but also as a place of memory that carries the story of the material. The surfaces she creates from recycled paper are shaped with an ecological consciousness, emphasizing the sustainability of both the material and the subject through images of landscape and nature.
