Re-mind is a metal sculpture that offers a profound perspective, referencing how small our lives have become within concrete structures and the confines of our homes, which feel like prisons during the pandemic. With the pandemic, we've felt the need to expand and simplify spaces in our homes, where the boundaries of our privacy have shrunk, to breathe and find relief. This sculpture aims to raise awareness of these physical and emotional "boxes" we inhabit.

ARTIST

Merve Servet Aydogan

Merve Servet Aydoğan is an artist and designer living in Antalya, Turkey. Mainly preferring metal and wood for her sculptures, the artist’s works reflect duality, concepts such as memory/remembrance-forgetting, metamorphosis and reconstruction/rebirth. Reshaping the scale of her object in her works, the artist pushes the viewer to question and confront by metamorphosing the ordinary object. Her creative process and methodologies are a mixture of postmodern and cultural techniques.
