The passage explores the boundary between time and space, traversing the horizontal flow defined by the horizon. The fibrous texture of the handmade paper and the random traces of the monoprint create both geographical and emotional layers on the surface. The orange line that cuts through the deep blue sky appears as a symbol of life and transformation, while the vertical traces that intersect it evoke both natural formations and human intervention. The contrast of earth and sky tones reflects both the serenity and fragility of a landscape in transition.

ARTIST

Melis Sucuoğlu Doğan

Born in Antalya in 1988, he completed his undergraduate studies at Gazi University, his postgraduate studies at Akdeniz University's Faculty of Fine Arts, and his Proficiency in Arts. He currently serves as a faculty member at Ardahan University's Faculty of Fine Arts.

Establishing a layered connection between nature, memory, and cultural narratives in her artistic production, the artist works with monoprints, handmade paper, and mixed media. She treats surfaces not only as a field of expression but also as a place of memory that carries the story of the material. The surfaces she creates from recycled paper are shaped with an ecological consciousness, emphasizing the sustainability of both the material and the subject through images of landscape and nature.
